Can I buy a KN-Q10 Kit set though you ?
Hi Andrew,
No. The best way to find out about purchasing the KN-Q10 and similar kits is via the CHINA_QRP Yahoo group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CHINA_QRP/.
In a post a couple of days ago Adam BD6CR indicated that he was “starting the kitting of 2nd batch. The builder of 2nd batch kit will feel much easier, as all the SMD parts are soldered, and toroids are pre-wound. The price remains the same 250 USD. I totally have 5 kits in the 2nd batch. Once it is sold out, KN-Q10A kit is sold out. I don’t see the possibility to continue.”
He went on to say he plans to offer the KN-Q7A kit soon, a slight modification to BA6BF’s kit. It will sell for about 150 USD (120 USD each + 30 USD shipping).
More info about KN-Q7A kit is available now at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CHINA_QRP/message/418
For copper antenna wire try your local electrical contractor supplier, Earth wire is what I use.
I also go to second hand shops and scrap metal dealers and scrounge and on one occasion he had just bought some old repeater masts and antennas so I took some of his hands.
RE: Ic-7000 I have never used one but several people I have spoken to with have complained bitterly about it so you may want to remove it from your wish list.
